Biography

Abdullah Al Mahmud received the Ph.D. degree in human-computer interaction from the Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, in 2012.
He is an Associate Professor and a Human–Computer Interaction Researcher who works at the intersection of design and health. He has been involved in industry-funded projects on codesign (loneliness intervention app and sleep hygiene app), assistive technology design (for people with low vision or blindness, children with autism, older adults, and people with aphasia), and technology assessment (e.g., improving service delivery for vulnerable mothers). His research interests include codesign, child–computer interaction, assistive technology, digital health, persuasive technology, and designing with and for marginalized communities living in low-resource regions.
